Genocide in Gaza: Israeli Airstrikes Kill 26, Including Family of 13

Reports on Friday revealed that 13 members of the Baraka family, predominantly children, were killed when their home in Bani Suheila, located east of Khan Yunis in southern Gaza, was struck by Israeli warplanes.

Gaza's civil defense agency stated that its teams recovered the bodies of the deceased, along with numerous injured individuals, from the Baraka family residence and neighboring homes targeted in the attacks.

In northern Gaza, Israeli airstrikes hit the Nasibu family home in Tal Al-Zaatar, claiming the lives of 11 people, including women and children.

Additionally, a father and his son were killed in an attack on the Abu Akr family house in western Khan Yunis on the same day.

The previous day, Thursday, saw at least 40 Palestinians killed in Israeli air raids across Gaza, many of whom were in encampments for displaced civilians. One of the strikes targeted tents in the coastal al-Mawasi area near Khan Yunis.

Eyewitness Israa Abu al-Rus recounted the harrowing experience: "We were sitting peacefully in the tent, under God's protection, when we suddenly saw something red glowing – and then the tent exploded, and the surrounding tents caught fire. This is supposed to be a safe area in al-Mawasi, and the place just exploded. We fled the tent towards the sea and saw the tents burning."

In a post on X, Catherine Russell, head of UNICEF, highlighted the impact on children, stating that 15 children had been killed in the Israeli strikes on Gaza within the past 24 hours. “Images of children burning while sheltering in makeshift tents should shake us all to our core,” she added.

Israel launched a genocidal war on Gaza on October 7, 2023, but it failed to achieve its declared objectives despite killing 51,065 Palestinians, mostly women and children, and injuring more than 116,505 others.

The usurping entity accepted longstanding negotiation terms by the Hamas resistance group under the Gaza ceasefire, which began on January 19.

On March 18, however, Israel unilaterally broke the truce and resumed its relentless bombing of Gaza.
