Custodianship of Imam Ali Shrine Planning Special Programs on Eid al-Ghadir

IQNA – The Astan (custodianship) of the holy shrine of Imam Ali (AS) in Najaf, Iraq, is planning to organize special programs in celebration of Eid al-Ghadir.

The week-long programs will be held both in Iraq and abroad, according to Astan’s Dar-ol-Quran Center.

Wassam Iskandar, head of the Astan’s Center for Planning and Development, said specialized committees have been formed to plan, organize and monitor all the activities of the Ghadir Week.

They will coordinate with government, security and service institutions in order to support the programs of the event and prepare special spaces for holding programs inside and outside Iraq, he stated.

New programs will be implemented for the first time, and the international programs include the implementation of various activities on different continents of the world according to a specific timetable, he noted.

Iskandar emphasized that holding the programs of the Ghadir Week will be followed closely and continuously to ensure that all sections of the executive committees have fulfilled their responsibilities.

The event of Ghadir, or Eid al-Ghadir is celebrated by Shia Muslims around the world every year.
