Iran Strikes US Base in Qatar in Retaliation for US Strikes on Iranian Nuclear Sites
Iran's Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC), under direct guidance from the Supreme National Security Council and led by the Central Khatam al-Anbiya Headquarters, announced that it had carried out a “destructive and powerful missile assault” on Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar on Monday evening.
The operation—coded “Basharat Fath” and invoked in the name of Imam Hussein—represents Iran’s first military retaliation after U.S. airstrikes targeted its Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan nuclear sites.
Al Udeid, hosting the U.S. Central Command and serving as the largest American strategic asset in West Asia, suffered multiple missile impacts, prompting Qatar to close its airspace temporarily.
Iran emphasized that the Al Udeid base, despite this strike, remains distant from civilian areas. In a statement, the Iranian council said: "The number of missiles used in this successful operation matched the number of bombs the United States employed in its attack on Iran’s nuclear facilities."
"This action posed no threat whatsoever to our friendly and brotherly nation, Qatar, or its honorable people. The Islamic Republic of Iran remains fully committed to preserving and continuing its warm, historic relations with Qatar," it added.

The attack took place as US forces carried out an unprecedented bombing campaign, dropping heavy bunker-busters on Iran’s key nuclear facilities.
In a statement, the Iranian armed forcces warned any repeat provocations would accelerate the dismantling of US military strength across West Asia, compel American forces’ “humiliating retreat” from the region, and galvanize the broader Islamic world in eliminating the “cancerous Zionist regime.”
