The two-day event, held at the Students’ Center of the Islamic Community of Bosnia and Herzegovina, was organized by the Religious Affairs Directorate of the Riyasat of the Islamic Community. It drew participants from across the country, aiming to master Quranic memorization and recitation.
Director of Religious Affairs, Mensur-ef. Malkić, representing Reisul-ulema Husein-ef. Kavazović, opened the closing ceremony by expressing heartfelt gratitude, Preporod reported on Sunday.
“I sincerely thank the teachers, parents, and relatives of the competitors for enhancing and beautifying this competition with their presence. Your support was of exceptional importance and showed how joint effort and attention to Quran learning can enrich this event,” he said.

Representing Qatar’s Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs, Sheikh Abdurrahman bin Abdulaziz al-Thani reflected on the spiritual significance of the gathering. “This Quran feast allowed us to feel the beauty and depth of God’s word. Learning the Quran is not just reading but also interpreting, with joy and dedication in learning and teaching.”
“I advise you to see competitions as one station in life. Be worthy of the Quran’s message. Strive to implement it in your lives and share it with people,” he added.

Category winners were invited to reflect on their preparation and experience. Muhamed Selimović, who won in the 15-juz’ hifz category, said: “I thank dear Allah and highlight that all participants were excellent. Success comes from regular engagement with the Quran and sincere dedication to learning.”
Talha Tričić, first in the 5-juz’ category, said: “Preparation lasted about a month, but with prior experience, the actual effort was much more. I am especially pleased that many hafiz took part, which helps in the renewal and perfection of the Quran.”
