The union said in a statement that its follow-up committee will prepare a report with observations on recitations that contain a significant point (errors or any issues), Al-Qahira reported.
It does not matter whether these recitations were performed in morning prayers, Friday prayers, or Quranic gatherings, or whether the reciter is a member of the Egyptian Radio and Television Union or even an official in the union, the statement said.
It added that the head of the Egyptian Quran Reciters Union, as a member of the Association for the Selection of Reciters and Reciters in the Egyptian Radio and Television Union, will submit this report to the head of the radio to take necessary measures.
The union emphasized that any recitation that contains significant points, regardless of the reciter, and whether the recitation is performed in public or private circles, will be submitted to the follow-up committee to take the necessary measures.
This will continue until the law of the union is amended to organize all Egyptian qaris under the supervision of Osama Al-Azhari, the Egyptian minister of Awqaf.
It is worth noting that recently, mistakes have been observed in the Quran recitations of a number of Egyptian qaris, which has led to criticism in this country.
A video of a recitation by Ahemd Ahmed Nuaina, the Sheikh-ul-Qurra of Egypt was recently published, in which two mistakes were observed in the recitation, and this recitation was sent to the union.

Abdul Fattah Tarouti, deputy Sheikh-ul-Qurra and the secretary general of the union has emphasized that this (mistake in recitation) is something that no one is infallible in, because all the people of the Quran, young and old, are subject to it, but the Holy Quran is victorious and invincible.
He called on everyone to avoid causing division among the people of the Quran, stating that “the goal of all of us is to serve the Quran and the people of the Quran.”
