TEHRAN (IQNA) – Some Islamic orders may be suspended for one reason or another but Salah is an act of worship that cannot be suspended.

Saying prayers

It is also an act of worship which the Islamic government has a duty to promote.

God says in Verse 41 of Surah Al-Hajj, “Those who, should We establish them in the land, will keep up prayer and pay the poor-rate and enjoin good and forbid evil; and Allah's is the end of affairs.”

Factory managers in an Islamic government should not just care about making profits, managers of and Islamic university should not just focus on training experts, and officials of an Islamic government should not limit their responsibilities to economic issues. The first responsibility of these officials is establishing prayers.

They should also remember that Salah is an act of worship that can never be suspended.

The Quran says in Verse 31 of Surah Maryam: “He made me to be blessed wherever I am, and He has charged me with prayer and charity for as long as I shall live.”

Each of Islamic orders may sometimes be suspended for some reasons. For example, Jihad is not obligatory for those who are sick. That is the same for fasting. Also Hajj and Zakat are not obligatory for the poor.

The only act of worship that is obligatory for all, including men and women, the sick and the healthy, the poor and the rich, is Salah. It is obligatory until the moment of death and is not suspended even for one day. (Of course, there are exceptions for women in certain days every month).
