IQNA – The Iraqi resistance movement Al-Nujaba hailed the naming of Yahya Sinwar as the new head of Hamas’ political bureau.

Yahya Sinwar named the head of the Hamas resistance movement’s political bureau after the assassination of Ismail Haniyeh.

In a statement on Wednesday, Nujaba congratulated the election of Sinwar to Hamas and the region’s axis of resistance.

Sinwar has replaced Ismail Haniyeh after the assassination of the resistance figure by the Israeli regime.

Nujaba said Sinwar will continue the path of resistance and rejection of any oppression and injustice.

His election shows that the Palestinian resistance fighters are united behind their commander and focus all their attention on achieving victory against the Zionist regime, the statement read.

The Iraqi movement also underlined its resolve to cooperate with the resistance forces in the Gaza Strip.

Sinwar is a Palestinian military commander who joined Hamas’ Ezzedeen Al-Qassam Brigades at the beginning of its foundation in the Gaza Strip.

He has been known for his role in Commando operations against the Israeli regime and is now on the regime’s wanted list.
