The contest was organized by the Holy Quran Scientific Assembly affiliated to the Astan (custodianship) of Hazrat Abbas (AS) holy shrine under the supervision of the Najaf Ashraf Quran Teaching Institute.
A total of 113 Quran memorizers from different Quran institutes and centers f Najaf took part in the Quranic event, competing in the preliminary and final rounds.
The categories included memorization of the entire Quran and memorization, 20, 10 and five Juzes (parts) of the Quran.
The closing ceremony, held on the Weekend, started with the recitation of verses from the Holy Book by qari and Quran memorizer Muhammad Ridha Ibrahim.
Then, Muhnad al-Mayali, the director of the Najaf Ashraf Quran Institute, delivered a speech in which he hailed the high level of the contestants and their enthusiasm for learning the Quran, al-Kafeel website reported.
He also underlined the importance of such Quranic event for developing the skills and capabilities of Quran activists and preparing them to participate in national and international Quran competitions.

At the end of the ceremony, winners of the first to third ranks were named and received prizes and certificates of honor.
