Hojat-ol-Islam Mohammad Ahmadzadeh, director general of the Awqaf Department in Khorasan Razavi Province made the remark at a press conference in Mashhad on Monday.
He said it is an honor to host the final stage of the prestigious competition, which is the Islamic Republic of Iran’s biggest Quranic event, at the holy mausoleum of Imam Reza (AS) in Mashhad.
He noted that the finals will be attended by 57 Quran reciters and memorizers from 27 countries.
They have made it to this stage from among nearly 400 Quran activists from 104 countries who took part in the first round, he added.
The official also noted that in order to benefit more from the presence of Quranic elites in the city, 41 Quran recitation circles will be organized in Mashhad during the competition.
As for the media coverage of the competition, he said all networks in the country will cover the event, but the Quran TV will be the main and primary channel for live broadcasts of the contest.

The broadcast frequency for the competition will be provided to 170 radio and television networks through the Union of Islamic Radio and Television Stations, reaching the ears and eyes of viewers in various Islamic countries, Hojat-ol-Islam Ahmadzadeh stated.
He also noted that the participants will have an official meeting with Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei in Tehran.
The International Holy Quran Competition of the Islamic Republic of Iran is annually organized by the country’s Awqaf and Charity Affairs Organization.
It aims to promote the Quranic culture and values among Muslims and showcase the talents of Quran reciters and memorizers.
The final round of the 41st edition is slated to take place in Mashhad on January 26-31, 2025.
