In an article on the occasion of the 46th anniversary of the victory of the Islamic Revolution of Iran, Rahmatullah Faizan, the deputy of the office of the Taliban ministry of foreign affairs, underlined the impacts of the establishment of the Islamic Republic in regional developments.

He said the victory of the revolution was one of the most important political, social, and cultural events in the 20th century.

The revolution, which took place with the leadership of Imam Khomeini and broad support of the Iranian nation, had significant impacts not only on Iran but all over the world, he said.

“The Islamic Revolution overthrew the Pahlavi monarchy, which was heavily reliant on Western powers, particularly the United States, and replaced it with an Islamic Republic. This change marked the first successful establishment of an Islamic government in modern times.”

This revolution freed Iran from Western political and economic domination and established it as an independent country on the international stage, Faizan underscored.

The people of Afghanistan always remember the support and sacrifices of the Islamic Republic of Iran and are grateful for the assistance received during the most challenging periods in their history, he went on to say.
