IQNA – Renowned Iranian qari Hamed Shakernejad underlined the importance of Quranic diplomacy, describing it as a bridge between nations.

Iranian qaris Hamed Shakernejad and Ahmad Abolqassemi attended a Quranic program held at Indonesia’s iconic Istiqlal Mosque on Sunday, March 16, 2025.

 

Shakernejad made the remarks during a large Quranic gathering held at Indonesia’s iconic Istiqlal Mosque on Sunday. 

The Holy Quran serves as a foundation for deepening understanding and mutual comprehension among nations, bringing peace to hearts, he added.

Ahmad Abolqassemi, another senior qari from Iran, and the Iranian Ambassador and the country’s Cultural Attaché were also present at the Quranic event, which was hosted by Indonesia’s Minister of Religious Affairs Nasaruddin Umar, who is also the prayer leader of the mosque.

The Iranian qaris, as well as qaris from Indonesia, including Darwin Husinwian and Mohammad Rizqan, recited verses from the Holy Quran, which received a very warm reception from the people of Indonesia attending the program.

In his address, the Indonesian religious affairs minister congratulated Muslims on the holy month of Ramadan and underscored the significance of the Night of Nuzul al-Quran (revelation of the Quran).

He also hailed the presence of the Iranian delegation at the Istiqlal Mosque in Jakarta.
