The country's Minister in the Prime Minister's Department for Religious Affairs, Datuk Dr. Mohd Na’im Mokhtar, said the initiative goes beyond mere recitation and emphasizes understanding and applying Quranic teachings in daily life.
"God willing, these efforts will be further strengthened—not just for reading, but so that the Quran can be understood through reflection (tadabbur) and applied in our lives," he said.
He added, "This message is not only for Malaysians but also something we intend to take to the global stage."
The minister made the remarks during the Quran Hour event, held as part of the ongoing Malaysia International Al-Quran Recital and Memorization Assembly (MTHQA) in Kuala Lumpur.
