Itikaf Ceremony Planned at Madagascar Capital’s Mosque

IQNA – A meeting was held in Antananarivo, the capital of Madagascar, on preparations for Itikaf rituals at one of the city’s mosques.

Meeting discusses upcoming Itikaf rituals in Madagascar

 

The rituals will be organized by the representative office of Al-Mustafa International University in the country and the Imam Reza (AS) Complex.

Head of the Imam Reza (AS) Complex Hojat-ol-Islam Mojtaba Rahmati, head of Al-Mustafa representative office Hojat-ol-Islam Seyed Saeed Rahimi, and head of Islamic Family and Spiritual Training Institute Seyed Mohammad Hossein Chavoshian attended the meeting.

They discussed efforts to use scholarly and cultural capacities and inviting experts and scholars to deliver speeches during the Itikaf rituals.

The mosque of Imam Reza (AS) Cultural Complex will host the Itikaf event from January 24 to 28.

Itikaf is a tradition of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and his family, and is regarded as a highly rewarding act of worship in Islam.

It is a spiritual practice in Islam that involves staying in a mosque for a certain number of days, fasting, and praying to God.

It is usually performed on the 13th, 14th, and 15th of Rajab, the seventh month of the Islamic calendar.
