IQNA – The Israeli attacks on the besieged Gaza Strip in the past 24 hours have killed at least 29 Palestinians, including women and journalists.

The Israeli regime has increased air strikes, particularly in central Gaza, the southern areas, and the Shujayea neighbourhood in Gaza City.

In a span of less than 24 hours, the death toll included five journalists, with three additional journalists killed in their homes the previous afternoon.

The aftermath of these attacks has been witnessed in eastern Khan Younis and Rafah city, where the deceased were taken from the hospital morgue for final rites and burial.

This recurring scene of grieving parents has become an all-too-common reality over the past nine months.

In a separate incident, at least 10 Palestinians were killed in an Israeli strike on a house in the Nuseirat refugee camp, located in central Gaza.

Turkey's Anadolu news agency cites medical sources who confirm that the casualties included nine members of the Jahjouh family, which comprised seven brothers, a woman, and a child.

The United Nations has described the situation in Gaza as increasingly dire, with mass displacement and ongoing conflict.

According to the UN, approximately 90% of Gaza's population is internally displaced, with around 250,000 people residing in areas under an Israeli military evacuation order.

The UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) has highlighted concerns over fuel shortages that threaten essential health services in hospitals and the operation of vital water and sanitation systems.

Additionally, the OCHA reports severe living conditions for displaced individuals in the Jabalia refugee camp, including acute shortages of water, shelter, and food.

The Israeli attacks on the besieged area since October last year have killed at least 38,011 Palestinians, mostly women and children. At least 87,445 others have been wounded and thousands are believed to be under the rubble of buildings razed by the regime’s intense bombing campaign.
