The General Authority for Care of the Prophet’s Mosque reported that this number included 2.5 million worshippers who visited and prayed at Al Rawda Al Sharifa, where the tomb of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) is located.
Visits were organized according to crowd-management regulations and separate schedules for women and men. Saudi authorities emphasized the need for visitors to Al Rawda Al Sharifa to make prior reservations and adhere to their scheduled appointments for smooth access.
During the same week, 26,811 worshippers from various nationalities utilized the multilingual communication services provided at the mosque. Additionally, 1,590 tons of Zamzam water were distributed, and over 257,000 fast-breaking meals were served.
Following the Umrah pilgrimage in Mecca, many pilgrims traveled to Medina to pray at the Prophet’s Mosque and visit other Islamic landmarks.
In 2023, more than 280 million Muslims prayed at the Prophet’s Mosque. In the first quarter of the current year, the mosque received 74.5 million worshippers, a period that included the Islamic lunar month of Ramadan.
