Head of the Academic Center for Education, Culture and Research (ACECR) Ali Montazeri in a decree appointed Seyed Abdolhamid Ahmadi, Seyed Ali Reza Kalantar Mehrjerdi and Rahim Khaki as members of the council.
“As you know, after holding six editions of the International Quran Competition for Muslim Students in the categories of Quran memorization and recitation with the participation of different countries, the ACECR is planning to hold the seventh edition,” part of the decree reads.
Given the importance, special status and the necessity of optimally holding the competition this year, you are hereby appointed as a member of the policy-making council of the contest, Montazeri said.
It is hoped that by taking advantage of the opinions and guidance of the respected members of the ACECR and other scholars and Quranic experts of the country, especially the academic community, the ground will be provided for the appropriate planning and holding of this edition of the contest, he went on to say.
The Iranian Academics’ Quranic Organization, affiliated to the ACECR, has organized the competition since 2006 with the aim of promoting unity and cooperation among Muslim world students and elevating the level of Quranic activities.

This year’s event comes following six successful editions of the competition, which hosted participants from over 85 countries and had a significant impact on Quranic and cultural engagement across the Islamic world.
The 6th edition took place in the holy city of Mashhad, northeast of Iran, in April 2018.
