With the start of the summer holidays, the Turkish Presidency of Religious Affairs, also known as Diyanet, has launched intensive programs in mosques in various regions of the country with the aim of attracting children and youth.
According to Diyanet, these activities aim to strengthen ties with mosques and instill Islamic and Quranic values among the new generation through a safe environment that combines education and entertainment.
A video clip shows the enthusiasm of children to participate in the summer program of the Umar Mosque in the Pendik district of Istanbul. The video shows a large crowd of children gathered in front of the mosque's door and, as soon as it opened, rushing happily inside the mosque, which was decorated with balloons.
The Umar Mosque is a pioneering model in the field of special children’s programs in mosques, which attracts hundreds of children and adolescents by combining education and entertainment.
Hundreds of thousands of children are expected to benefit from the summer activities of mosques in approximately 1,800 mosques and Quran memorization centers throughout Turkey.
